Your computer might be hacked!

Watch for these signs: slow performance, unknown programs, and pop-ups.

Unusual Pop-Ups and Ads: Run a full system scan with reputable antivirus software. Remove any identified threats and uninstall suspicious browser extensions.

Slow Performance: Check for high CPU usage in Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac). Identify and terminate suspicious processes.

Programs opening and closing automatically: Disconnect from the internet immediately. Boot your computer in Safe Mode and run a full antivirus scan to identify and remove malware.

Unfamiliar Programs Installed: Uninstall unknown programs via Control Panel (Windows) or Applications folder (Mac). Follow up with a complete malware scan.

Password Issues: Change passwords immediately from a secure device. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all accounts. Scan your computer for keyloggers.

Increased Network Activity: Use network monitoring tools to identify unusual traffic. Disable your network connection and run a malware scan. Consider resetting your router.

E-mails Sent Without Your Knowledge: Change your email account password and enable 2FA. Check your sent items and report the incident to your email provider.

Security Software Disabled: Attempt to re-enable the software and update it. If unsuccessful, boot into Safe Mode and run a full scan.
